Hi all, have quickly put on our photos for the week from flying the comp in St Andre, south of france.
Was a tough start to the week, and we didn't do to well onthe first 2 days, local knowledge is definetly king!
However, as we learnt more and more each day we got further and further.
There where 14 reserve deployments during the week and at least 5 people in trees, and we are glad to say that none of the above was us!!

Swys 2010 Week 4 Grindelwald

Had to wake up early on Sunday morning to take Johann Snyman to Geneva airport to get his flight back to Canada.
Carl came along for the 2 hour drive as he had a lost baggage refund to claim off Swiss.
It was raining lightly and definitely a very low Cloudbase. On the way back from Geneva the Cloud was lifting leaving me optimistic we would get a flight or two in Grand Bornand before setting off for Grindelwald, (where it was raining).
We waited till noon but did not seem to want to clear up so we loaded the van, planning a tourist route drive to Grindelwald where we would be joined by Sonya and Thomas.
Swys 2010 - Annecy 8th -15th August

France : St Jean de Sixt – Annecy.
So after being blown out at Verbier, the bus was loaded and we set forAnnecy, St Jean de Sixt to be precise.
This is situated at the confluence of the Grand Bornand and La Clusaz. Behind these launches are the Aravis, which separates them from The Chamonix valley.
We did the shortest route which also was the most scenic. Martigny via La Forclaz through Chamonix. Of course we had to stop and take pictures of the stunning Sion Valley.
We had a slight detour via Annecy due to the road being closed so we saw a bit of the French rural countryside.
Every one settled in for the week and we had a region briefing that evening.
Swys 2010 – Verbier 4th To The 8th August

So sorry for the delay in an update, flying lots, computer time zero !!
So to back date a bit and continue with our journey, last Wednesday we decided to have a quick flight from Cima Del Grappa in Bassano, which was stunning, and then we headed for Verbier.
Once on the road all went smoothly and we arrived in Verbier, and collected Zoyon who was loitering with intent at the roundabout in central Verbier.
We have reverted back to our little chalet above the sports centre, with the stunning views of Petit Combin and the valley below.

Swys 2010 – Bassano
Got up bright and early Saturday morning, to get organised for moving to Bassano.
Mark and Steve went for a flight and Mal and Jack filmed and photographed.
We said god bye to Mal, Jack and Jo and off they went to Innsbruck for their next journeys’.
So we packed up our bus and set off for Bassano, with the weather looking lovely, and a balmy 33 degrees in Italy.
We arrived in Bassano and collected Johan, who had just arrived from Canada, from the corner cafe where he was too busy watching pretty Italian ladies to noticed the big black bus with SA flags all over it had arrived !!
